Why is Taylor Swift rerecording Red?

Taylor Swift is rerecording her original albums as a means to reclaim ownership of her music.

The initiative was sparked by the sale of her masters to the talent manager and businessman Scooter Braun and his company Ithaca Holdings. While Braun no longer owns the albums, Swift continues to rerecord with the goal of fully owning her music and devaluing the original albums.

Swift’s modern take on the Red‘s cover artwork depicts her wearing a beige peacoat and a Mattie Burgundy Velvet Fisherman Cap. She sports her iconic red lipstick and wears a ring spelling out the album’s name, while sitting in a vintage 1932 Chevrolet Cabriolet convertible during autumn.

Who was the album Red written about?

While unconfirmed, fans speculate that Swift’s Red album is largely inspired by her three-month relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The relationship ended in 2011 when she was 21, and he was 30.

It’s hypothesized that Harry Styles and Conor Kennedy also serve as muses on the album. Both dated Swift in 2012.

Will there be a 10-minute version of “All Too Well” on Red (Taylor’s Version)?

Though the aforementioned word puzzle, Swift announced the existence of the long-rumored, ten-minute version of “All Too Well.” It will close out Red (Taylor’s Version) as track number 30.

The fifth track on the album is a ballad detailing the slow burn of heartbreak, and has gained a reputation as one of her principal numbers.
